[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] (사)한국공공자치연구원 주관 경남에서 가장 경쟁력이 높은 도시로 조사한 결과 김해시가 가장 높은 도시로 인증을 받았다.
평가 주관기관인 (사)한국공공자치연구원은 지난 8일 김해시에 공식 인증서를 전달했다.
인증서는 각 광역시도 내 최상위 기관에 수여되는 것으로 김해시는 2년 연속 경남 1위 지자체로 공식 인증됐다.
이기헌 한국공공자치연구원장은 “김해시는 수도권과 견줄 수 있는 탄탄한 경쟁력을 보유한 도시로 평가된다”며 “3대 메가이벤트 개최, 산업구조 재편, 광역교통망 확충 등 꼭 필요한 곳에 집중투자한 정책효과들이 수치로 입증됐다”고 말했다.
한국지방자치경쟁력지수 평가는 한국공공자치연구원에서 지난 1996년부터 매년 전국 지자체를 대상으로 시행하고 있으며, 지방정부의 경쟁력을 가늠할 수 있는 공신력 높은 자료로 폭넓게 활용되고 있다.
정부공식통계와 지자체별 통계연보, 관련 기관의 공식통계자료들을 바탕으로 경영자원, 경영활동, 경영성과 3개 부문의 합을 종합경쟁력으로 평가하며 순위는 시·군·구별로 20위까지 공개한다.
김해시는 민선8기 출범 후 2023년 15위, 2024년 16위에 이어 지난해 사상 첫 전국 Top 10에 진입했고. 경남에선 2년 연속 최우수 기관으로 선정되는 쾌거를 이뤄냈다.
상위 20위까지 범위를 넓혀봐도 3년 연속으로 상위 20위 안에 랭크된 도내 도시는 김해가 유일하다.
김해시 송홍열 기획조정실장은 “이번 평가 결과를 통해 김해가 경남을 넘어 전국구 수준의 경쟁력을 보유한 대도시라는 사실을 재확인할 수 있었다”며 “여기서 안주하지 않고 계속해서 양적·질적으로 도시 경쟁력을 강화해나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
