Gyeonggi Provincial Council Member Lee Young-joo Visits EQ Music Academy in Gwangjeok-myeon to Hear Their Concerns
Visited to hear the concerns of small business owners in his district and gather their opinions on legislative activities... Gyeonggi Province Needs Its Own Small Business Support Policy
[Break News Yangju = Reporter Kim Wan-young] Gyeonggi Provincial Council Member Lee Young-joo, a native of Yangju, visited EQ Music Academy (Director Ma Jeong-joo) next to the main gate of Ganap Elementary School in Gwangjeok-myeon on the 9th to hear their concerns and gather their opinions on legislative activities for the 2026 winter season.
Lee, a member of the People Power Party's Yangju 1st District Provincial Council, is a young politician who has been actively involved in legislative activities, including securing 4.5 billion won in special grants from Gyeonggi Province in the second half of last year as a member of the Construction and Transportation Committee.
Director Ma Jeong-ju stated, "Despite your busy legislative activities, I appreciate your visit to our music academy, a small business with limited resources, and your listening to our concerns. While the low birth rate has made it difficult for us to have children, music classes are crucial for children's emotional development, and we cannot afford to give up."
Director Ma added, "Last year, we received some support from Yangju City for an environmental improvement project, but it's still insufficient to improve our aging academy. However, Gyeonggi Province's small business support program excludes businesses that previously received support from local governments. Therefore, the lack of a separate support policy from Gyeonggi Province makes it meaningless."
Responding, Council Member Lee Yeong-ju stated, "We will discuss practical support for small businesses. While overlapping support measures are unacceptable, the small amount of support is unlikely to significantly contribute to environmental improvement. I believe it's important for Gyeonggi Province to independently decide on its own small business support policy, independent of local governments."
Meanwhile, the 9th local elections will be held on June 3rd.
