지속가능항공유(SAF)·탄소포집 실증센터 등 미래 산업 기지화
이완섭 시장, 대산읍민과 대화서 “지역 상생·사통팔달 도로망 조성” 약속
충남 서산시 대산읍이 단순한 석유화학 단지를 넘어 대한민국 친환경 산업의 전초기지로 급부상하고 있다. 서산시는 대산읍에 집중된 친환경 인프라를 바탕으로 도심과의 접근성을 획기적으로 개선해 지역 균형 발전을 꾀한다는 전략이다.
서산시는 대산읍 일대에 지속가능항공유(SAF)와 탄소포집활용(CCU) 등 저탄소 산업 전환을 위한 핵심 기반 시설을 구축 중이다.
가장 눈에 띄는 것은 2028년 완공 예정인 ‘지속가능항공유 종합실증센터’다.
서산시는 지난해 3110억 원 규모의 외부 재원을 확보했으며, 대죽리 일원에 건립될 이 센터를 통해 항공유 원료 확보부터 인증까지 전 과정의 기술 국산화를 지원할 예정이다.
또한, 대산읍 평신1로에 마련된 ‘탄소포집활용 실증지원센터’는 이달 중 시범 운전에 돌입한다. 산업 배출가스별 공정 기술을 개발하는 시험대 역할을 하며 탄소중립 실현의 중추적 역할을 맡게 된다.
