문산도서관, 장애 아동 인공지능 교육 ‘우리가 만드는 도서관 속 작은 기상청’ 운영

파주시 문산도서관은 한국과학창의재단의 ‘디지털새싹’ 교육지원 사업의 일환으로, 지적·자폐성 장애 아동을 위한 인공지능 교육 프로그램 ‘우리가 만드는 도서관 속 작은 기상청’을 운영한다.

이번 프로그램은 21일부터 29일까지 총 4차시로 진행되며, 문산도서관 1층 ‘탐사2’ 공간에서 12세부터 18세까지의 지적·자폐성 장애 아동 8명을 대상으로 실시되며 교육은 디지털새싹 사업 지원을 받은 전문 강사가 맡아 진행한다.

프로그램에 참여하는 아동들은 한글 코드를 작성하고 소형 제어판(아두이노)을 활용해 날씨 자료를 직접 모으고 살펴보는 과정을 통해, 인공지능의 기초 원리를 자연스럽게 익히게 된다.

프로그램은 단계별 체험 중심으로 구성돼 아동들의 이해를 돕고, 정보기술에 대한 흥미와 자신감을 키울 수 있도록 기획됐다.

문산도서관 관계자는 “이번 프로그램을 통해 장애 아동의 정보기술 활용 기초 능력을 키우고, 또래와의 소통과 협력의 경험을 넓히는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다”라며, “앞으로도 도서관이 누구나 배움에 참여할 수 있는 포용적 학습의 장이 될 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
