세종시 산울동 행복누림터(복합커뮤니티센터) 내 국공립어린이집 설치가 확정됐다.
세종시는 14일 시청 4층 회의실에서 2026년도 제1차 보육정책위원회를 열고 공공보육과 관련된 주요 현안을 포함한 7개 안건을 심의·의결했다.
보육정책위원회 이날 회의에서는 그동안 주민 민원이 지속적으로 제기되어 온 산울동 행복누림터 내 국공립어린이집 개원 문제를 집중적으로 논의했다.
앞서 시는 전반적인 보육수요와 생활권별 특수성 등을 고려해 국공립어린이집 확충 계획을 재검토해 왔다.
시는 산울동 0∼6세 보육아동수가 지난해 1,742명에서 올해 1,969명으로 늘어난 것과 향후 약 1,600세대 입주 예정에 따른 보육수요 증가 등을 고려해 산울동 행복누림터 내 국공립어린이집 설치를 확정했다.
이에 따른 개원 목표는 오는 2027년이다.
또 ▲어린이집 수급 계획 ▲보육료 수납한도액 결정 ▲어린이집 반별 정원 탄력 편성 운영기준 등 공공보육 서비스 질 향상을 위한 주요 사안들이 중점적으로 논의됐다.
시는 이번 보육정책위원회에서 의결된 사항을 바탕으로 관련절차를 신속히 추진하고, 주민의견을 지속적으로 수렴해 지역 실정에 맞는 보육정책을 단계적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
김려수 보건복지국장은 “아이를 안심하고 맡길 수 있는 보육환경 조성은 선택이 아닌 필수”라며 “주민의견을 비롯한 현장의 목소리를 정책에 적극 반영해 세종시 공공보육의 기반을 차근차근 확충해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편 ,보육정책위원회는 영유아보육법에 따라 설치된 심의기구로, 국공립어린이집 확충, 보육정책 추진방향, 보육환경 개선 등 지역 보육정책 전반에 대해 심의·의결하는 역할을 맡고 있다.
