16일, 김 출마예정자는 “기름값 상승과 인력난, 유통 구조의 한계로 어민들이 제값을 받기 어려운 현실”을 언급하며 “거창한 구호보다 당장 먹고사는 문제와 현장 안전부터 챙기겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 공약은 ▲친환경 어항 현대화 ▲수산물 유통 혁신센터 구축 ▲어촌 관광벨트 조성 등 세 가지 축으로 구성됐다.

우선 친환경 어항 현대화 사업을 통해 어항과 어판장 내 안전사고를 줄이겠다는 계획이다. 김 출마예정자는 어획물 양육장과 작업장 바닥을 미끄럼 방지 특수 소재로 교체하고, 방파제 조명 밝기를 대폭 개선해 야간 입출항 안전을 확보하겠다고 밝혔다. 이와 함께 어구 도난 방지와 사고 예방을 위한 CCTV 확대 설치, 위생동과 작업 데크 표준화도 추진하겠다고 덧붙였다.

어촌 관광 활성화를 통한 소득 다변화 전략도 포함됐다. 김 출마예정자는 낚시, 통발, 해녀 체험 등을 묶은 관광 패키지를 개발하고, 지역 민박·펜션·식당과 연계한 1박 2일 체류형 관광 코스를 조성하겠다고 말했다. 또한 청년 귀어인을 유치해 관광과 레저 산업을 어촌의 새로운 성장 동력으로 키우겠다는 방침이다.

김일만 출마예정자는 “배가 만선이어야 어민의 어깨가 펴지고, 항구가 살아야 포항 경제가 돈다”며 “책상 위 정책이 아니라 바닷바람 맞는 현장에서 답을 찾겠다”고 강조했다. 이어 “미끄러운 바닥은 고치고, 막힌 판로는 반드시 뚫어 활력 넘치는 포항의 바다를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
