의정부시의회 운영위원장 김현채 의원(국민의힘·비례대표)이 경기도교육청으로부터 '2025년 창업·직업교육 유공 표창'을 받았다.
김 의원은 의정부시의회에서 열린 수여식에서 '경기도 2025학년도 직업교육 내실화 평가' 결과 '직업교육 내실화 유공' 부문 교육감 표창을 수상했다고 19일밝혔다.

이번 표창은 김 의원이 의정부 지역을 중심으로 직업교육의 중요성을 꾸준히 제기하며 직업계고에 대한 사회적 인식 개선과 지역 기반 인재양성 체계 구축에 기여한 공로를 인정받은 것이다.
김 의원은 교육부 주관 '협약형 특성화고 육성사업'과 '미래형 직업교육 모델학교' 추진 과정에서 경민IT고 운영위원으로 참여해 지자체-학교-대학-산업체 간 협력 거버넌스 구축에 힘써왔다.
이를 통해 지역 직업교육이 지속가능한 구조로 자리 잡는 데 중요한 역할을 했다는 평가를 받고 있다.
김 의원은 직업계고가 단순한 취업 중심 학교를 넘어 지역 산업과 연계된 진로·직업교육의 중심으로 기능해야 한다고 강조해왔다.
의정활동을 통해 정책 제안과 제도적 지원을 이어가며 학생들이 지역 안에서 학습과 진로를 설계하고 취업과 창업으로 성장할 수 있는 기반 마련에 앞장서 왔다.
이번 수상은 김 의원의 2025년 들어 다섯 번째 수상이자 의정활동 전반에서 일곱 번째 수상이다.
