[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 하동군 귀농귀촌운영위원회가 21일 올해 첫 회의를 개최하고 올해 귀농·귀촌·귀향 지원 정책에 대해 점검·보완하고 현장 수요에 맞는 신규 정책을 발굴 등을 논의했다.
2025년 하동군은 귀농·귀촌 1,460세대(1,809명)가 유입되는 등 증가세를 보였다.
군은 귀농·귀촌인 증가를 현장 중심 정책의 성과로 보고, 올해도 민관 협력 기반의 논의를 통해 정책 완성도를 높여 ‘귀농귀촌 1번지 하동’의 위상을 공고히 한다는 계획이다.
하동군 귀농귀촌운영위원회는 하동군 귀농귀촌지원센터 소속으로 총 18명(당연직 2명, 위촉직 16명)으로 구성됐다.
당연직은 귀농귀촌지원센터장과 농업정책담당 주사이며, 위촉직은 기존 위원 11명 연임과 신규 위원 5명 추가 위촉으로 운영된다.
군은 회의에 앞서 신규 위원 5명(화개면 손경식, 횡천면 신성기, 금성면 김정숙, 청암면 박재훈, 옥종면 김혜영)을 위촉했다.
이번 위촉을 통해 전 읍·면에 최소 1명 이상의 위원을 고르게 배치하는 체계를 갖추게 됐으며, 이를 바탕으로 각 지역의 애로사항과 제안을 현장에서 직접 청취하고 정책에 더욱 신속하게 반영할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
위원회는 앞으로 2년간 귀농·귀촌 정책 수립 및 집행 자문, 정책 발굴·제안, 정책 모니터링 및 공유 등의 역할을 수행한다.
아울러 각 읍·면에서 신규 귀농·귀촌인의 길잡이로 활동하며, 정착 과정에서 겪는 어려움이나 궁금한 사항이 있을 경우, 운영위원들의 도움을 받을 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.
운영위원들은 이날 회의에서 △귀농·귀촌·귀향 주요 지원정책 검토 △귀농·귀촌 정착을 위한 이장의 역할 강화 △ 하동군 귀농귀촌 활성화방안 등 다양한 의견과 제안을 공유했다.
군 관계자는 “귀농·귀촌은 단순한 인구 이동을 넘어 삶의 가치와 방향을 바꾸는 선택”이라며 “정착 단계별 맞춤 지원과 생활 기반 확충을 통해 하동이 ‘머무르고 싶은 곳’이 될 수 있도록 노력하고, 읍면별 현장 의견을 정책에 적극 반영하겠다”고 말했다.
