[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 한국전력공사의 송·배전 설비 등 전력계통 운영에 필요한 주요 기자재를 보관·관리하는 전력물류 거점시설로 운영될 물류센터 사업이 본격 추진된다.
밀양시는 부북면 감천리 일원 밀양 나노융합국가산업단지 내에 한국전력공사 물류센터 구축을 확정하고, 한국전력공사와 22일 부지 매매계약을 체결함에 따라 사업 추진이 본격화됐다고 밝혔다.
이번에 조성되는 한국전력 물류센터는 총 549억원(부지 156억, 건축 345억, 물류 설비 48억)의 사업비가 투입되며, 부지면적 3만882㎡, 건축면적 1만5,396㎡ 규모로 건립될 예정이다.
한국전력공사는 부지 매입을 완료함에 따라 향후 실시설계와 각종 인허가 등 관련 행정절차를 신속히 밟아 단계적으로 착공에 들어갈 계획이다.
이번 물류센터 구축은 2024년 나노융합국가산업단지 내 변전소 및 에너지저장장치(ESS) 설치에 이어, 밀양 지역 전력 인프라를 단계적으로 완성하는 사업이다.
이는 안정적인 전력 공급체계 구축은 물론 국가산업단지 입주기업의 생산활동 지원에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
또한 한국전력공사의 지속적인 인프라 투자와 협력사업을 통해 지역과의 상생 기반을 강화하는 계기가 될 것으로 평가되고 있다.
안병구 밀양시장은 “나노융합국가산업단지 내 전력 인프라 구축의 마지막 단계로 추진해 온 물류센터 구축이 여러 차례 난항 끝에 최종 확정돼 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”며, “물류센터가 조속히 구축돼 전력계통 안정화는 물론, 국가산단 경쟁력 강화와 지역경제 활성화에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있도록 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
밀양시는 이번 물류센터 구축을 계기로 나노융합국가산업단지를 중심으로 전력·물류·첨단제조 인프라가 연계된 산업생태계를 구축하고, 전략적 기업유치와 투자 확대를 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
