【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 지난 22일 지역 주민과의 직접적인 소통을 강화하기 위해 ‘2026년 시민과 함께 만드는 현장소통마당’을 이어가며 동천동과 보덕동을 방문했다고 밝혔다.

이날 동천동 행정복지센터와 보덕동 주민자치센터에서 열린 현장소통마당에는 주낙영 경주시장을 비롯해 최덕규 경상북도의회 의원, 임활 경주시의회 부의장, 정종문 경주시의회 경제산업위원회 위원장, 지역 기관·단체장, 주민대표 등 200여 명이 참석해 지역 현안과 시정 운영 방향에 대해 의견을 나눴다.
행사는 주민과의 질의응답 중심으로 진행됐으며, 생활 속 불편 사항과 지역 발전을 위한 다양한 건의가 이어지는 등 토론형 소통 방식으로 운영됐다. 주민들의 질문에 대해 국·소·본부장과 관계 부서장이 현장에서 직접 답변하며 검토 결과와 향후 추진 계획을 설명하는 등 실질적인 소통이 이뤄졌다.
동천동에서는 동원어린이공원 맞은편 주차규제봉 및 반사경 설치 요청과 알천북로~원화로 구간 내리막길 도로 정비 건의가 제기되는 등 교통 안전과 도로 환경 개선에 대한 요구가 집중됐다.
보덕동에서는 황용 약수터~인자암 마을안길 확장공사의 신속한 추진과 천군쓰레기매립장 침출수로 인한 악취 저감 대책 마련 등 생활환경 개선과 환경 민원 해소를 요구하는 의견이 이어졌다.
경주시는 이번 현장소통마당에 앞서 최근 5년간 접수된 시민 건의사항의 처리 현황을 정리하고, 신규 건의사항에 대해서도 사전 검토 자료를 마련해 현장에서 주민들에게 설명했다. 행사 이후에도 건의사항별 추진 상황을 지속적으로 점검하고, 처리 결과를 주민들과 공유할 방침이다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “시정의 방향은 행정이 아닌 시민의 삶의 현장에서 결정된다”며 “동천동과 보덕동에서 제기된 주민들의 의견을 면밀히 검토해 시민이 체감할 수 있는 변화로 이어질 수 있도록 끝까지 책임지고 챙기겠다”고 말했다.
한편 ‘2026년 시민과 함께 만드는 현장소통마당’은 다음 달 10일까지 관내 22개 읍면동을 순회하며 계속 운영될 예정이다.
