【브레이크뉴스 영주】박영재 기자=영주시가 23일 시청강당에서 ㈜코리아화인에프티, 경상북도와 함께 건강기능식품 제조공장 설립을 위한 투자양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약에 따라 ㈜코리아화인에프티는 총 300억 원을 투자해 영주시 풍기읍 일원에 건강기능식품 제조공장을 신설하고, 2026년부터 2030년까지 단계적으로 200명을 고용할 계획이다. 신규 공장은 경기도 평택에 위치한 기존 본사 및 생산시설을 이전·확장하는 형태로 조성된다.
코리아화인에프티는 GMP(우수건강기능식품제조기준) 기반의 생산체계를 갖춘 건강기능식품 전문 제조기업으로, 홈쇼핑과 온라인, 오프라인 유통망을 통해 시장 경쟁력을 확보하고 있다. 새 공장에서는 바이알, 정제, 스틱, 파우치 등 다양한 제형의 제품을 생산하며, 자동화 설비와 품질관리 시스템을 강화할 예정이다.
이번 투자는 지역 식품 제조·가공 산업 기반을 확충하고, 농업 중심 지역의 산업 구조를 보완하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다. 특히 지역 농산물과 원부자재 활용 확대를 통해 농업과 제조업 간 연계 강화 및 농가 소득 증대 효과도 예상된다.

추진호 ㈜코리아화인에프티 대표는 “영주시는 장기적인 생산 확대와 전국 공급망 구축에 적합한 입지”라며 “영주시의 적극적인 기업 유치 노력과 원활한 소통이 투자 결정의 계기가 됐다”고 말했다.
한편 영주시는 인구 감소 대응을 위해 적극적인 투자 유치에 나서며 가시적인 성과를 내고 있다. 지난해 9월에는 1조 2천억 원 규모의 무탄소 전원개발사업 협약을 체결했으며, 12월에는 방산기업 ㈜코리아디펜스인더스트리와 37만 평 규모 산업단지 조성 및 400명 고용을 골자로 한 투자협약을 맺었다.
이번 코리아화인에프티 투자까지 연이어 성사되면서, 영주시는 미래 성장동력 확보와 산업 구조 다각화에서 실질적인 성과를 거두고 있다는 평가를 받고 있다.
