(브레이큰뮤스인천 박상도 기자) 부천원미경찰서가 지난 23일, 우회전 시 발생하는 교통사고를 예방하고 보행자 안전을 강화하기 위해 관내 버스운수업체인 소신여객과 함께 우회전 교통사고 예방 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

부천원미경찰서에 따르면, 이번 캠페인은 우회전 차량과 보행자 간 교통사고가 지속적으로 발생함에 따라 대형차량 운전자의 안전의식을 높이고 우회전 시 보행자 보호 의무를 적극적으로 홍보하기 위해 마련됐다. 

이날 캠페인에는 부천원미경찰서 교통과와 소신여객 기사 등 30명이 참여해 우회전 시 차고지 정박하는 버스 운전기사를 대상으로 일시정지 준수를 당부하며 홍보 전단, 선크림 등 홍보물을 전달했다. 

또한, 캠페인에 참여한 소신여객 소속 버스 운수종사자를 대상으로 우회전 시 일시정지 의무, 횡단보도 보행자 우선, 사각지대 주의사항 등을 중심으로 교육도 함께 진행했다. 

부천원미경찰서는 “우회전 교통사고는 운전자의 작은 부주의로도 인명피해로 이어질 수 있다.”며 “앞으로도 운수업체 등 관계기관과의 협업을 통해 보행자 중심의 교통 문화 정착을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
