<브레이크뉴스 강원=김일웅 기자> 송준호 제46대 북부지방산림청장이 본격적인 봄철 산불조심기간을 앞두고 최일선 현장을 찾아 산불 대응 태세를 면밀히 점검했다.
26일 북부지방산림청에 따르면, 송 청장은 이날 취임 후 처음으로 인제국유림관리소를 방문해 산불 재난 대응 체계를 살피고, 실제 상황을 가정한 통합 진화 지휘 훈련을 주재했다.

특히 이번 점검에서는 지난 1월 12일 산불 대응 역량 강화를 위해 신설된 ‘산림재난대응팀’의 임무와 역할에 대한 집중적인 확인이 이뤄졌다. 이어 인제의 대표 명소인 원대리 자작나무 숲으로 이동해 산불 발생 상황을 가정한 통합지휘본부를 현장에 설치하고, 신속한 진화 대책 수립과 지휘 능력을 배양하는 고강도 훈련을 실시했다.
이종화 인제국유림관리소장은 “산불은 발생 후 진화보다 예방이 무엇보다 중요하다”고 강조하며, “올해는 영농부산물을 태우지 않고 파쇄하는 문화가 정착되어 소각으로 인한 산불이 획기적으로 줄어들 수 있도록 국민 여러분의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다”고 당부했다.

훈련을 마친 송준호 청장은 “북부지방산림청의 보물과도 같은 인제 자작나무 숲에서 훈련하며 숲의 소중함을 다시 한번 절감했다”며, “소중한 우리 숲이 한순간의 실수로 사라지지 않도록 철저한 대비 태세를 갖추고, 유사시 신속하고 체계적으로 대응하는 북부지방산림청을 만들어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
