[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함양군은 2027년산 공공비축미 매입 품종으로 2026년과 동일한 ‘해담쌀’과 ‘삼광벼’를 선정했다고 26일 밝혔다.
군은 26일 농업기술센터 회의실에서 ‘2027년산 공공비축미 매입 품종 선정위원회’를 열고 이 같이 결정했다.
이날 선정위원회에는 각 읍·면 이장단협의회 회장을 비롯해 쌀 전업농 농가, 국립농산물품질관리원, 농협중앙회 함양군지부·함양농협 미곡종합처리장(RPC), 농업기술센터 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석했다.
위원회는 사전에 각 읍면을 통해 농가 수요 조사를 실시하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 회의 안건을 상정해 토론을 거쳐 최종 품종을 결정했다.
함양군은 저지대부터 고지대까지 농지 분포가 넓고, 양파재배가 많아 이모작에 적합한 조건도 갖추어야 하며, 함양 쌀의 브랜드 인지도를 고려해 고품질의 쌀 생산에 적합한 품종을 선정하는 데 어려움이 있었지만, 최적의 품종을 선정하기 위해 참석자들의 다양한 의견을 모아 품종을 최종 선정했다.
함양군 관계자는 “2027년산 공공비축미 매입 품종으로 해담쌀과 삼광벼로 결정됨에 따라 농업인들에게 적극적으로 홍보하는 한편 농업인들의 소득 증대를 위해 보다 많은 관심과 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
