<브레이크뉴스 원주 = 김일웅 기자> 강원 원주 지역 사회 내 장애인에 대한 편견의 벽을 허물고 따뜻한 공감대를 형성하기 위한 의미 있는 행사가 시민들의 높은 관심 속에 막을 내렸다.
양업토마스장애인종합복지관(관장 이현국)은 지난 16일 원주시청 로비에서 장애인의 날을 기념해 마련한 장애 발생 예방 및 인식 개선 캠페인 ‘공감’을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 캠페인은 장애인에 대한 사회적 이해도를 한층 높이고, 재활 의지를 응원하는 문화를 확산하기 위해 기획됐다.
행사장에서는 나눔의 온기를 전하는 ‘라면트리’를 비롯해, 평소 헷갈리기 쉬운 장애 상식을 바로잡는 ‘OX 퀴즈’, 장애 유무와 관계없이 누구나 편리하고 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 환경을 알리는 ‘유니버설 디자인(UD) 전시’ 등 다채롭고 직관적인 체감형 프로그램이 진행되어 시청을 찾은 시민들과 공직자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.
지난 2021년 6월 문을 연 양업토마스장애인종합복지관은 개관 이래 지역 내 장애인들의 삶의 질 향상과 권익 증진을 도모하며 다각적인 맞춤형 복지 서비스를 선도적으로 제공해 오고 있다.
