[브레이크뉴스 동두천=김완영 기자] 경기도 동두천시(시장 박형덕) 보산새마을금고(이사장 황인숙)는 지난 26일, ‘사랑의 좀도리 운동’을 통해 정성껏 모은 백미(10kg) 550포와 문화상품권을 지역사회를 위해 기탁했다.
‘사랑의 좀도리 운동’은 식량이 부족하던 시절, 밥을 지을 때 쌀을 한 움큼씩 덜어 항아리에 모아 두었다가 어려운 이웃을 도왔던 전통적인 ‘십시일반’의 정신을 계승한 새마을금고의 대표적인 사회공헌 활동이다.
이번에 기탁된 물품은 백미 10kg들이 550포(총 5,500kg)와 문화상품권 100만 원 상당으로, 사회복지공동모금회 접수를 통한 공식 배분 절차를 거쳐 투명하고 공정하게 지원될 예정이다.
기탁된 백미는 동두천시 관내 8개 동 행정복지센터와 대한노인회 동두천지회, 동두천시종합자원봉사센터, 새마을 동두천시지회 등 주요 복지 단체 3곳을 통해 식료품 지원이 필요한 가구에 전달된다. 문화상품권 100만 원은 동두천 드림스타트를 통해 저소득 아동 가정에 전달돼 아이들의 꿈을 지원하는 데 사용될 예정이다.
