[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사천시로 이주하는 우주항공청 직원과 가족의 안정적인 지역 정착을 지원하기 위해 사천시가 최고의 정주여건 개선에 최선을 다하고 있다.
시는 기존 추진 중인 정주여건 개선 지원사업 총 16개 사업 중 정주 효과가 큰 6개 사업을 선별해 연장 추진한다고 27일 밝혔다.
이번 연장 추진은 기존 정주여건 개선 지원사업의 추진 성과를 분석하고, 이주직원과 가족의 실제 생활 여건에 대한 현장 수요를 종합적으로 반영해 결정됐다.
연장 대상 사업은 주택자금 대출이자 지원과 월세 지원, 주택 중개 및 등기보수 지원, 초·중·고 자녀 승마 체험비 지원, 사천사랑카드 지원, 이주직원 배우자(공무원) 우선 인사교류 지원 등 총 6개 사업이다.
이 가운데 주택자금 대출이자 지원(최대 3천283만2천 원)과 월세 지원(월 30만 원, 4년간)은 2026년 5월 우주항공청 이주직원 관사 제공 종료에 따라 발생할 수 있는 주거 부담을 완화하고, 우수 전문인력의 이탈을 방지하기 위해 연장 추진된다.
사천시는 그동안 이주직원 이주정착 장려금(1인 200만 원, 최대 1,000만 원, 최초 1회), 초·중·고 자녀 전·입학 장려금(1인 150만 원, 최초 1회), 경남도와 연계한 미취학 아동 양육지원금(1인 50만 원, 2년간), 건강검진비 지원 등 다양한 정주 지원사업을 추진해 왔다.
박동식 시장은 “2026년 5월 관사 제공 종료를 앞두고 이주직원들의 주거 부담을 완화하기 위해 주택자금 대출이자와 월세 지원 사업을 연장하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 우수 인재가 사천에 머물며 역량을 충분히 발휘할 수 있도록 실질적인 정주 지원을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
