태백시(시장 이상호)는 강원특별자치도가 주관한 ‘제24회 아름다운 간판 공모전’과 ‘제15회 강원건축문화제’의 수상작 전시회를 오는 31일부터 2월 6일까지 태백석탄박물관에서 개최한다고 28일 밝혔다.

이번 순회 전시는 도민들에게 도시 경관의 중요성을 알리고, 우수한 옥외광고물과 건축 문화를 공유하기 위해 기획됐다. 전시회에서는 창의적인 디자인이 돋보이는 아름다운 간판 수상작 14점과, 강원도의 경관과 어우러진 우수 건축물 16점 등 총 30점의 작품을 만나볼 수 있다.
특히 시는 전시 장소를 태백산 당골광장에 위치한 석탄박물관으로 선정해, ‘태백산 눈축제’ 기간 동안 축제장을 찾는 수많은 관광객과 시민들이 축제와 문화 전시를 동시에 즐길 수 있도록 했다.
시 관계자는 “눈꽃의 향연이 펼쳐지는 태백산에서 강원도의 우수한 건축과 디자인 작품을 감상할 수 있는 좋은 기회”라며 “이번 전시가 쾌적하고 품격 있는 도시 환경 조성에 대한 공감대를 형성하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.
