파주시가 토목직 공무원들의 실무 역량 향상을 위해 국내 최초 한강하저 도로터널 시공현장 견학을 실시했다.
파주시는 26일부터 27일까지 이틀간 토목직 공무원 80명을 대상으로 수도권 제2순환고속도로 김포~파주 구간 한강하저터널 시공현장 견학을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 견학은 김포와 파주를 연결하는 연장 2.98km의 한강하저 도로터널 시공현장을 직접 확인함으로써 대형 지하구조물에 대한 토목직 공무원의 실무 이해도를 높이고 기술행정 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

한강하저터널은 굴착 직경 14m로 국내 쉴드 터널굴착기계(TBM) 공법이 적용된 터널 중 최대 규모에 해당하는 고난도 토목공사다.
설계와 시공, 안전관리 전반에 걸쳐 높은 수준의 기술력이 요구되는 사업으로 평가받고 있다.
견학은 김포~파주 2공구 한강터널 홍보관(파주시 방화리길 82-40)에서 진행됐으며, 시공사인 현대건설의 현장 안내에 따라 사업 개요와 추진 현황에 대한 설명을 들었다.
참여자들은 하저터널 시공 공법과 기술적 특징에 대한 이해를 높인 후 한강터널 시공 현장을 비롯한 주요 시설을 둘러보며 실제 공사 과정을 직접 확인했다.
견학에 참여한 한 공무원은 "이론으로만 접하던 하저터널 시공기술을 실제 현장에서 확인할 수 있어 향후 업무 수행에 많은 도움이 될 것 같다"고 말했다.
파주시 관계자는 "이번 현장 견학은 대규모 국가 사회기반시설(SOC) 사업에 대한 이해도를 높이는 계기가 됐다"며 "앞으로도 현장 중심의 교육을 통해 기술직 공무원의 전문성을 지속적으로 강화해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
