고양특례시가 지역경제 활성화를 위해 산업단지 밖 지식산업센터의 입주 가능 업종을 3차로 확대한다.
이동환 고양시장은 제조업과 지식산업, 정보통신산업, 벤처기업 등이 복합적으로 입주할 수 있는 지식산업센터를 중첩 규제 극복의 대안이자 기업 유치의 핵심 시설로 육성한다는 방침이다.
고양시는 수도권정비계획법상 과밀억제권역에 속해 기업 유치에 어려움을 겪어왔다.
이에 지난 2024년 5월 전국 최초로 지식산업센터 업종 규제를 완화했고, 올해 2월 2차 확대를 단행해 덕은·향동지구의 입주율을 끌어올리는 성과를 거뒀다.
이번 3차 확대에서는 중견기업 본사 유치에 중점을 두고 6개 업종을 추가했다. 추가 업종은 ▲제조업 회사본부(중견기업 이상) ▲기타 산업 회사본부(중견기업 이상) ▲교육 관련 자문 및 평가업 ▲기타 교육지원 서비스업 ▲고고 유산 조사연구 서비스업 ▲조경관리 및 유지 서비스업 등이다.
시는 조성 중인 일산테크노밸리, 고양창릉 공공주택지구 등과 연계해 다양한 산업 분야의 선도 기업을 유치할 계획이다.
실제로 지난해 12월 삼송MBN스튜디오 지식산업센터에 LG헬로비전 본사가 이전하면서 630여 명이 근무하게 됐고, 이는 지역 경제에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있다는 평가다.
시 관계자는 "앞으로도 대기업, 중견기업 등 다양한 선도기업이 고양시 지식산업센터에 입주할 수 있도록 입주업종을 확대해 자족도시로 나아가는 기반을 튼튼히 다지겠다"고 밝혔다.
