[노병한의 관상·칼럼]사람은 누구나 재능·능력·성품·성격·기질·용모 등 상당히 많은 부분을 선천적으로 타고난다. 저마다 사람의 운명은 태어나면서부터 이렇게 이미 정해져 있다고 믿는다. 이렇게 기량과 품성을 선천적으로 타고나는 것이라고 가정하자. 그래서 선천적으로 타고난 성품·성격·개성·재능 등이 모두가 제각각이고 다른 것이다.
이렇듯 사람들은 각자가 타고난 기량을 가지고서 자기의 삶을 살아간다. 그래서 열 길 물속은 알아도 한 길 사람 속은 알기가 어렵다는 속담이 생겼을까. 그렇다면 사람들은 저마다 선천적으로 타고난 재능과 기량만으로 판에 박힌 듯 살아가야만 하는 것일까?
사람의 재능과 기량은 선천적으로 타고난다. 정치꾼·장사꾼·농사꾼·놀이꾼·소리꾼·익살꾼·사기꾼 등 말이다. 꾼이란 그 분야에서 전문가적인 기질이고 프로라는 의미이다. 선천적으로 타고난 재능이 기량을 결정하고 그러한 기량이 그 사람의 운명과 운(運)을 좌우하는 것이다. 이러한 운(運)이 그 사람의 생애를 좌지우지하는 결정적인 요소가 되는 셈이다.

인생은 전쟁인데 자신의 노력에 대한 결과물이겠지만 대부분 운(運)에 지배받음이 크다고 할 것이다. 그러나 확실한 것은 자신에게 주어진 과제나 책임을 회피하게 되면 좋은 운(運)도 반드시 도망간다는 점이다.
그래서 주어진 운(運)을 자기편으로 만들어내려는 긍정적이고 적극적인 자세가 필요다. 예컨대 좋은 운(運)을 불러들이는 가장 중요한 요건은 바로 자기에게 주어진 과제와 책임에 대한 강렬한 욕구와 용기 그리고 실천이다. 이것이 바로 천명(天命)과 소명(召命)이다. 제아무리 재능이 많고 인덕이 두터워도 운(運)이 따르지를 않는다면 그는 최고 리더의 위치를 성취할 수가 없다.
최고의 리더는 천부적으로 최고의 리더의 별을 가지고서 태어난다고들 한다. 삼태성(三台星)이나 북두칠성(北斗七星)과 같은 문양을 몸에 가지고 태어나는 사람도 있다. 누군가가 최고의 자리에 오르게 되면 억세게 운(運)이 좋다고들 한다. 그렇지만 그 사람의 재능과 기량이 운세만으로 지배되는 것만은 아니다.
그러나 운(運)이 따른다면 설령 재능과 인덕이 약간 부족한 인물이라고 하드래도 중견기업의 사장이 되기도 하고 정치적인 큰 인물로 부상되기도 한다. 사람이 살아가는데 운(運)이야 아주 중요한 결정인자라고 할 수 있을 것이다.
그러나 운(運)을 미리 정확하게 예측하여 알고서 살아가는 사람은 그리 많지 않다. 이 세상이 운(運)에 의해서 결정되는 것처럼 보이는 것도 사실이다. 그러나 모든 것들은 일시적인 운(運)일 따름이다.
인생 항로에서 태어남과 죽음이라는 생졸(生卒)이 분명하듯이 출생과 죽음 사이에서 전개되는 모든 사항을 알 수는 없는 일이다. 이는 단지 신(神)의 영역에 맡겨두어야 할 사안이다. 삶의 진행 과정 도중에 다양한 모습을 드러내고 나타나는 운(運)은 그저 일시적인 것에 불과하다. 타고난 기량이 바로 운(運)이다.

그러므로 시간성과 공간성을 이해하는 것이 물리법칙과 조물주 법칙을 이해하는 지름길이다. 시간상으로는 춘하추동 4계절과 1년 12개월이 존재한다. 공간상으로는 동서남북 4방위와 8방위가 존재한다. 다소의 차이는 있으나 사람들이 선천적으로 타고나는 기질과 기량을 분석함에 출생하는 계절에 따라서 그 기질이 확연히 다름을 알 수가 있다.
