브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자가 A4 종이 크기 수준의 13형 ‘삼성 컬러 이페이퍼’를 전 세계에 순차 출시한다.
‘삼성 컬러 이페이퍼’는 종이처럼 얇고 가벼운 디지털 사이니지로, 디지털 잉크 기술을 적용해 기존 디지털 사이니지 대비 현저히 낮은 전력이 소모되는 초저전력 디스플레이다. 특히, 화면에 표시된 이미지를 바꾸지 않고 그대로 유지할 때는 전력이 전혀 소모되지 않는다.
삼성전자는 지난해 첫 출시한 QHD(2,560x1,440) 해상도의 32형 모델에 더해, 13형 크기의 신제품을 출시하며 라인업을 확대했다.

이 소재는 레진 생산 과정에서 이산화탄소를 직접 흡수하는 성질을 가진 식물성 플랑크톤을 원재료로 활용한 것이 특징이다. 이 같은 소재 혁신을 바탕으로 제품 제조 과정에서 기존 석유 기반 플라스틱 소재 대비 40% 이상 탄소배출량을 줄일 수 있다.
또한, 13형 ‘삼성 컬러 이페이퍼’는 글로벌 인증기관인 UL로부터 제품 커버에 식물성 플랑크톤에서 유래한 바이오 레진과 재활용 플라스틱이 절반 이상 포함됐음을 검증받았다. 포장재는 모두 종이 소재로만 구성됐다.
