충남 태안군이 농림축산식품부 공모사업에 선정돼 농경지 배수개선과 방조제 개보수를 위한 국비 209억 원을 확보했다고 30일 밝혔다. 태안군은 이번 사업을 통해 상습 침수 지역의 구조적 문제를 해결하고, 기후변화로 인한 재해에 적극 대응할 방침이다.
확보한 예산은 배수개선사업 2개 지구 126억 원 ,지방관리방조제 개보수 4개 지구 83억 원으로 구성됐다. 이번 선정으로 군은 침수 피해가 잦은 지역을 중심으로 배수로를 정비하고 노후 방조제의 안정성을 높인다.
배수개선사업으로는 근흥면 죽림지구(84ha)에 국비 101억 원을 투입해 배수로 정비와 복토를 추진하고, 고남면 누동지구에는 25억 원을 들여 소규모 배수개선 공사를 실시한다.
또한, 방조제 개보수사업은 근흥 진원뚝, 고남 두산, 소원 소파, 안면 절골 등 4개소가 대상이다. 군은 노후화된 방조제를 체계적으로 보강해 해일이나 폭풍 등으로부터 농경지와 인근 마을을 보호할 계획이다.
태안군은 올해 기본계획을 수립한 뒤 2027년 착공, 2030년 완공을 목표로 사업을 추진한다. 군은 시설 현대화를 통해 매년 반복되는 침수 피해를 근본적으로 차단하고, 농작물 피해 최소화와 안정적인 영농 기반 조성을 도모하겠다는 입장이다.
