충남 당진시가 우강면 일대의 상습 침수 문제 해결을 위한 ‘우강4지구 배수개선사업’이 농림축산식품부 기본조사 대상지로 최종 선정되며 국비 97억 원을 확보했다고 30일 밝혔다.
이번 선정으로 시는 삼화·중방·신리·부곡지구 사업비 95억 원을 포함해 총 192억 원 규모의 예산을 확보, 배수 취약 지역 개선사업을 본격 추진할 수 있게 됐다.
우강4지구는 성원리, 강문리, 소반리, 신촌리, 승산리, 창리 등 우강면 중심 지역으로, 집중호우 때마다 배수로 합류지점 병목과 교량 통수 단면 부족 탓에 침수가 반복돼 왔다. 지난해 여름에도 하루 수백 밀리미터의 폭우로 콩 등 타작물 재배지가 크게 침수돼 피해 민원이 잇따른 지역이다.
당진시는 이번 사업을 통해 총 93ha의 농경지에 배수장 1개소 설치 ,배수로 3.4km 정비 ,교량 2개소 개선 ,매립 9.7ha 정비 등을 추진할 계획이다. 해당 사업이 완료되면 농경지는 물론 마을 주택과 농가시설 침수 위험이 크게 줄고, 안정적인 영농 환경이 조성될 것으로 기대된다.
