고양연구원은 지난 28일 한국항공대학교와 고양시 현안 해결 및 미래 전략산업 육성을 위한 협력체계 구축 업무협약을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 항공, 우주, 미래모빌리티 등 미래산업 분야를 중심으로 양 기관의 연구 및 교육 역량과 정책연구 기능을 연계하기 위해 마련됐으며 이를 통해 고양시의 중장기 발전 전략을 뒷받침하고 지역사회 발전에 기여한다는 방침이다.
고양시가 산업구조 고도화와 첨단산업 기반 확충, 전문인력 양성이라는 과제를 안고 있는 상황에서 이번 협약은 대학과 연구기관 간 협력 기반의 연구 및 인재 양성 연계 모델을 구축하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.
양 기관은 앞으로 지역 현안 해결을 위한 공동 연구과제 발굴, 항공·우주·미래모빌리티 및 스마트시티 등 특화 분야 연구 협력, 공공정책 수립 지원을 위한 학술 자문과 연구성과 공동 활용, 지역 수요 기반 전문인력 양성 프로그램 기획 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 확대할 계획이다.
연구성과가 정책으로 연결되고 다시 산업 현장에 환류되는 선순환 구조를 구축함으로써 고양시의 미래산업 경쟁력과 정책 실효성을 동시에 강화한다는 구상이다.
고양연구원 김현호 원장은 이번 협약이 고양시의 지역 여건과 정책 수요를 반영한 전략적 연구 협력의 시작이라며 대학의 연구 역량과 연구원의 정책 분석 기능을 결합해 실효성 있는 연구를 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.
한국항공대 허희영 총장은 대학이 축적해 온 연구 역량을 지역 정책과 연결하는 출발점이라며 고양연구원과의 협력으로 지역 현안을 해결하고 그 성과가 정책과 인재 양성으로 이어지는 구조를 만들겠다고 강조했다.
