【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=국민의힘 이상휘 국회의원(포항시 남구·울릉군)이 지난 1월 30일부터 오는 2월 7일까지 지역 주민을 직접 찾아가는 ‘2026 의정보고회’를 열고 본격적인 현장 소통에 나섰다.
이번 의정보고회는 지난 한 해 동안의 의정활동 성과를 공유하고, 포항의 미래 성장 전략과 주요 국책 사업 추진 현황을 주민들에게 직접 설명하기 위해 마련됐다. 총 4일간 6차례에 걸쳐 지역별 거점을 순회하는 방식으로 진행된다.
보고회 첫날인 30일, 이 의원은 구룡포읍·동해면·장기면·호미곶면을 차례로 방문해 각 지역의 핵심 현안과 사업 추진 상황을 설명하고 주민들의 의견을 청취했다. 현장에서는 생활 밀착형 민원부터 지역 발전 방향에 대한 다양한 목소리가 이어졌다.
이 의원은 주요 의정 성과로 ▲철강 산업 경쟁력 회복을 위한 ‘K-스틸법’ 통과 ▲수소환원제철 실증기술개발사업 예비타당성조사 통과 ▲탄소중립 실현을 위한 CCU(탄소 포집·활용) 메가 프로젝트 예타 통과 등을 소개하며, 포항 산업 구조 전환의 청사진을 제시했다.
이상휘 의원은 “포항은 지금 새로운 성장의 분기점에 서 있다”며 “확보한 국책 사업들이 지역 경제를 살리고 청년들이 안심하고 정착할 수 있는 도시로 이어질 수 있도록 끝까지 책임을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 이번 의정보고회가 마무리된 이후에는 ‘통일교 게이트’와 ‘공천뇌물’ 관련 쌍특검 수용을 촉구하는 서명운동도 함께 진행되고 있다. 이 의원은 오는 2월 7일까지 지역구 곳곳을 돌며 주민들과의 현장 소통을 이어갈 예정이다.

Meanwhile, following the conclusion of this parliamentary briefing, a signature drive is underway urging the acceptance of a special prosecutorial investigation into the "Unification Church Gate" scandal and the "nomination bribery" scandal. Representative Lee plans to continue to tour his constituency and engage with residents on the ground until February 7th.
