브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차그룹이 설 명절을 앞둔 협력사들에 납품대금을 조기 지급하고 취약계층을 지원하는 등 상생 활동에 나선다.
현대차그룹은 설 연휴 전 협력사들의 자금 부담을 덜어 경영 안정을 돕고 활력을 불어넣기 위해 납품대금 2조768억 원을 당초 지급일보다 최대 12일 앞당겨 지급할 계획이라고 2일 밝혔다.
이번 납품대금 조기 지급은 △현대자동차 △기아 △현대모비스 △현대건설 △현대제철 △현대글로비스 △현대트랜시스 △현대위아 △현대오토에버 등 현대차그룹 소속 주요 그룹사가 시행한다. 부품 및 원자재, 소모품 등을 거래하는 6000여 개 협력사가 대상이다.
설 명절 기간 직원 상여금 등 각종 임금과 원부자재 대금 등이 일시적으로 집중됨에 따라 협력사들의 자금 운용의 어려움을 완화하기 위한 취지다.
현대차그룹은 1차 협력사도 2∙3차 협력사에 납품대금을 조기 지급하도록 권고해 선순환을 적극 유도하기로 했다. 이를 통해 2∙3차 협력사까지 재정 관리의 불확실성을 해결하고, 안정적 운영을 지원하는 등 조기 지급의 실질적 효과를 높이겠다는 의도다.
현대차그룹은 매년 설, 추석 명절 전 협력사들의 자금난 해소를 위해 납품대금을 선지급해왔으며, 지난해 설과 추석에도 각 2조446억 원, 2조228억 원의 대금을 조기 지급한 바 있다.
현대차그룹 관계자는 “경제 불확실성이 커진 가운데 자금 수요가 많은 설 명절을 맞아 협력사 납품대금을 조기 지급하기로 했다”며 “앞으로도 협력사에 실질적 도움이 될 수 있는 다양한 지원방안을 마련할 것이다”고 말했다.
아울러 현대차그룹 소속 임직원들은 전국 각지에 있는 사업장별로 주변 취약 계층 등 이웃을 위해 필요 물품 전달 및 배식 봉사 등 따뜻한 설 연휴를 보낼 수 있도록 온정의 손길을 전할 계획이다.
현대차·기아·현대모비스 임직원은 결연기관 및 취약 계층을 대상으로 기부금과 필요 물품 등을 전달하고, 복지시설 내 임직원 봉사활동 등을 진행한다. 지역 전통시장 상품권도 지원해 지역 경제 활성화에 기여할 계획이다.
현대제철·현대건설·현대로템·현대트랜시스는 저소득층 아동 및 어르신 등 소외 이웃들을 위해 밑반찬 제공을 비롯해 식사 대접, 배식 봉사 및 무료 급식소 식자재 지원 등 다양한 지원활동을 펼친다.
현대위아는 지역 농산물을 원재료로 한 샌드 쿠키를 만들어 판매하고, 수익 전액을 지역 산불 피해지역 산림 복원 사업에 기부할 방침이다.
