고양특례시의 청소년 진로 탐색을 돕는 대학생 멘토단 ‘고양유니브(Goyang Univ)’가 10주년을 맞아 역대급 규모로 활동을 재개한다.
시는 2일, ‘고양유니브’ 10기 멘토 250명을 최종 선발하고 본격적인 활동 준비에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
‘고양유니브’는 고양시 출신 대학생들이 지역 내 중·고등학생들에게 생생한 전공 정보와 진로 경험을 나누는 학과 멘토링 프로그램이다.
2017년 첫발을 내디딘 이후 지난 9년간 약 15만 명의 청소년에게 진로 가이드를 제공하며 고양시를 대표하는 ‘고양형 청소년 진로체험사업’으로 성장했다.
시는 올해 더 많은 대학생이 지역사회 공헌에 참여할 수 있도록 운영 규모를 대폭 확대했다.
총 350명의 지원자 중 전공의 다양성과 거주 지역 등을 종합적으로 고려해 250명을 엄선했다.
특히 올해는 약 200여 개에 달하는 방대한 전공 분야의 멘토들이 참여해, 청소년들에게 더욱 전문적이고 폭넓은 진로 탐색 기회를 제공할 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.
고양유니브의 가장 큰 성과는 이른바 ‘진로 선순환 체계’의 구축이다.
중·고교 시절 선배들의 멘토링을 받았던 멘티들이 대학 진학 후 다시 멘토로 돌아오는 사례가 매년 증가하고 있다.
