현재 의정부시는 '지역건설산업 활성화 촉진 조례'를 통해 민간 건설사업 인허가 시 지역 내 장비와 인력을 50% 이상 사용하도록 적극 권장하고 있다. 또한 '지역건설근로자 우선 고용 및 체불임금 없는 관급공사 운영 조례'를 근거로 ▲지역 주민 우선 채용 ▲구인·구직 연계 강화 ▲지역 업체 신기술 설계 반영 등을 추진 중이다.
