의정부시 녹양동주민센터는 지난 2일, 위생 및 안전 관리가 시급한 관내 청년 1인 가구를 대상으로 주거환경 개선 사업을 실시했다고 3일 밝혔다.
이번 지원 대상자는 우울증 등 복합적인 문제로 집안에 생활 쓰레기를 장기간 방치해 온 사례관리 대상자다. 녹양동은 대상자가 스스로 거주지를 치우기 어려운 상황임을 파악하고, 의정부시가 사회복지공동모금회 예치금으로 추진 중인 '저장강박 의심 가구 주거환경 특수 청소' 사업을 긴급 연계했다.
지원은 청소에서 그치지 않았다. 녹양동은 청년의 근본적인 자립을 돕기 위해 경기도의료원과 연계해 정신건강의학과 진료를 지원하고, 의정부시 자살예방센터에 심리 상담을 의뢰했다. 또한 긴급생계비 지원 신청과 사회보장급여 안내 등 경제적 울타리도 함께 마련했다.
최경섭 녹양동장은 "열악한 주거환경은 청년들의 신체적, 정신적 건강을 위협하는 가장 큰 요인"이라며 "앞으로도 복지 사각지대에 놓인 이웃들을 적극 발굴해 그들이 다시 사회로 나올 수 있도록 맞춤형 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.
