【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 급증하는 파크골프 인구에 선제 대응해 증평읍 연탄리 보강천 일원에 파크골프장을 확장 조성하는 사업을 본격 추진 한다.
이번 사업은 올해 3월 착공해 12월 준공을 목표로 하며, 총사업비 약 19억 원을 투입해 18홀 규모의 파크골프장을 새롭게 조성하는 것이 핵심이다.
특히 보강천의 수변 경관과 자연환경을 최대한 살린 설계를 적용해 지역 대표 생활체육·여가 공간으로 조성될 전망이다.
완공 이후에는 무료 운영을 통해 접근성을 높이고, 세대 구분 없이 누구나 즐길 수 있는 개방형 스포츠 공간으로 활용할 계획이다.
군에 따르면 파크골프는 고령층을 중심으로 확산된 이후 최근에는 중·장년층과 여성 동호인까지 참여층이 빠르게 확대되며, 지역 생활체육의 핵심 종목으로 자리 잡고 있다.
