고양특례시가 설 연휴를 앞두고 시민들의 발길이 잦은 전통시장과 대형 판매시설에 대한 합동 안전점검을 마쳤다고 4일 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 지난 1월 20일부터 2월 3일까지 2주간 진행됐다.
점검 대상은 코스트코 고양점 등 대형 판매시설 4곳과 원당시장, 일산시장을 포함한 전통시장 3곳 등 총 7개소다.

시는 점검의 전문성을 강화하기 위해 경기도와 고양시 관계부서, 고양소방서, 일산소방서, 민간 전문가 등으로 구성된 민관 합동점검반을 꾸렸다.
합동점검반은 전기 설비의 안전 관리 실태, 소화 장비 및 방화구획 확보 여부, 피난 시설과 대피로의 유지 관리 상태, 주요 구조물의 균열이나 변형 여부 등 대형 사고로 이어질 수 있는 위험 요소를 중점적으로 점검했다.

점검 결과 소화 장비 앞 적치물 이동 등 현장에서 즉시 시정이 가능한 사항은 바로 조치를 완료했다.
소화기 내구연한 경과로 교체가 필요한 경우 등 즉각 시정이 어려운 사항에 대해서는 지속적으로 관리하며 시설물 안전에 힘쓸 계획이다.
시 관계자는 "민관 합동점검을 통해 내실 있는 안전 관리가 이뤄졌다"며 "설 명절 시민들이 가족들과 안심하고 편안한 연휴를 보낼 수 있도록 안전사고 예방에 만전을 기하겠다"고 말했다.
