설 명절 앞둔 포항, 포항제철소 사랑 나눔으로 온기 확산

포스코 포항제철소(소장 박남식)는 5일 해도동과 송도동에 위치한 ‘포스코 나눔의 집’에서 무료 배식 봉사를 실시하고, 포항지역 전통시장에서 설맞이 장보기 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 포항제철소 소장단과 파트너사 대표 등 30여 명이 참여해 어르신 600여 명에게 식사를 제공하며 명절 인사를 전했다. 제공된 식사는 명절을 맞아 영양을 고려한 메뉴로 준비됐다.

이어 큰동해시장과 대해불빛시장, 송림시장 등 5개 전통시장에서는 포항제철소 임직원과 파트너사 직원 약 700여 명이 참여한 가운데 장보기 행사가 진행됐다. 참가자들은 식재료와 제수용품 등을 구매하며 약 300만 원 상당의 소비를 통해 지역상권 활성화에 힘을 보탰다.

이번 행사는 전통시장 상인회와 포항시, 포스코가 함께 참여하는 민·관·기업 협력 프로그램으로, 포스코 포항제철소는 2008년부터 명절마다 해당 활동을 이어오고 있다.

포항제철소 관계자는 “19년째 이어온 명절 나눔 활동을 통해 지역사회와의 연대를 강화하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 지역과 함께하는 상생활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 포스코 포항제철소는 재능봉사단 운영 등 다양한 사회공헌활동을 통해 지속가능한 지역사회 조성에 나설 계획이다.
