[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 산청군은 군민들이 안전하게 자전거를 이용할 수 있도록 전 군민 대상 2026년 산청군민 자전거 안전보험을 가입했다고 6일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 자전거로 인한 불의의 사고로 발생하는 군민들의 경제적 부담을 덜어주기 위해 2024년부터 시행하고 있다.

가입대상은 외국인을 포함해 산청군에 주민등록을 두고 있는 군민이라면 별도의 가입 절차없이 자동으로 보험 혜택을 받을 수 있다. 

보장 범위는 사고발생 지역과 관계없이 보장이 가능하며, 자전거를 직접 운전하거나 탑승 중 발생한 사고는 물론, 도로 통행(보행)중 자전거로 인한 사고도 보장 대상에 포함된다. 

보장 내용은 △사망 △후유장애 △진단 위로금 △입원 위로금 △자전거 사고 벌금 △변호사 선임 비용 △교통사고 처리지원금 등 이다.

산청군 관계자는 “자전거 이용 증가에 따라 발생할 수 있는 각종 사고로부터 군민의 안전을 보호하기 위해 매년 자전거 상해보험에 가입하고 있다”며, “자전거 이용 활성화를 위한 다양한 정책 추진과 더 많은 홍보를 통해 많은 군민들께서 보험 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
