브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 맹인섭 기자가 오는 6월 3일 치러지는 충남 ‘아산시 을’ 국회의원 보궐선거에 출사표를 던졌다. 맹 출마예정자는 광남일보에서 대통령실을 출입한 기자 출신이다.
맹인섭 출마예정자는 6일 본지와의 인터뷰(통화)에서 "낮은 자세로 시민 곁에서 일하겠다. 정치권과 언론의 교차점에서 아산의 미래를 열겠다"며 출마 의지를 밝혔다.
그는 "충남 아산을 미래 도시로 만들겠다"면서 "농어민과 노동자의 안정된 삶을 보장하고, 중앙정부 지원을 통해 충청권의 물류·경제 허브로 육성하겠다"고 강조했다.
특히 그는 "이제 충남 아산의 미래를 열 때”라며 "JP와 DJ를 잇던 충청의 정치적 가교 역할을 되살려 아산을 미래 도시로 만들겠다. 농어민과 노동자들의 안정된 삶을 보장하겠다. 중앙정부 지원을 이끌어내 아산을 충청권의 물류·경제 허브로 육성하겠다"고 포부를 전했다.
한편, 충청권 인사인 맹인섭 기자는 1990년대 김종필 주도의 신민주공화당 창당대회에서 발기문을 낭독했으며 김대중 대통령 당선 과정에서 청년자문위원으로 활동한 이력이 있다.
2000년 들어서는 국회, 청와대, 서울시청, 헌법재판소 등을 출입하며 30년간의 취재 경력을 가진 언론인이다.
