고양특례시가 고양동부새마을금고와 손잡고 저출생 위기 극복에 나선다.
시는 지난 6일 고양동부새마을금고와 '고양시민 출생축하 아기통장 발급 지원 사업' 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
2020년 시작된 이 사업은 올해로 7년째를 맞으며 고양시의 대표적인 출산 지원 정책으로 자리잡았다.

2025년 12월 말 기준 총 3,542명이 아기통장을 개설하며 출생축하금을 받았다.
올해 지원 대상은 2025년 7월 1일부터 2026년 6월 30일 사이에 태어난 아기다.
신청일 현재 고양시에 거주하고 관내에 출생신고를 완료한 가정이면 신청할 수 있다.
신청은 올 3월부터 12월까지 고양동부새마을금고 본점 또는 지점을 방문해 아기 명의 통장을 개설하고 축하금을 신청하면 된다.
1인당 10만 원이 지급되며, 예산 소진 시 조기 종료될 수 있다.
시 관계자는 "이 사업은 민간 금융기관과 지자체가 손잡고 저출생 문제에 공동 대응하는 모범적인 사례"라며 "7년간 쌓아온 시민들의 신뢰를 바탕으로 아이 키우기 좋은 고양시를 만들기 위해 실효성 있는 정책을 확대해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
