<브레이크뉴스 강원 = 김일웅 기자> 북부지방산림청이 본격적인 봄철을 맞아 국유림 내 고로쇠 수액 채취 현장에 대한 대대적인 점검에 나선다.
북부지방산림청은 12일부터 오는 3월 31일까지 관내 국유림에서 진행되는 고로쇠 수액 양여 신청 마을을 대상으로 현장 점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

‘국유임산물 무상양여’는 산불 예방 등 산림 보호 활동에 앞장선 지역 주민들에게 국유림 내 부산물 채취 권한을 주는 제도다. 마을 주민들이 연간 60일 이상 산림 보호에 힘쓴 실적이 인정되면, 고로쇠 수액이나 송이버섯 등을 채취해 소득을 올릴 수 있다.
이번 점검은 수액 채취 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 나무 훼손을 막고, 소비자들이 안심하고 마실 수 있는 위생적인 환경을 조성하기 위해 추진된다. 주요 점검 사항은 ▲수액 채취 구멍 위치 준수 여부 ▲채취 호스 및 집수통 위생 상태 ▲시험성적서 확인 및 사후 관리 등이다.
북부지방산림청은 지난해 산림 보호 협약을 맺은 20개 마을에 약 9만 리터의 수액 채취를 허가해 3억 7천여만 원의 주민 소득을 창출한 바 있다. 올해는 채취량이 늘어 약 10만 리터, 4억 원 상당의 소득 효과를 거둘 것으로 기대하고 있다.
송준호 북부지방산림청장은 “철저한 현장 점검을 통해 국민에게는 깨끗하고 건강한 고로쇠 수액을 제공하고, 지역 주민들에게는 든든한 소득원이 될 수 있도록 관리하겠다”며 “이 제도가 산불 예방과 지역 경제 활성화라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡는 모범 사례가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
