대경대학교는 12일 “최근 발표된 국가대표 및 국제대회 선발 명단에 본교 선수 8명과 이민영 감독이 포함됐다”고 밝혔다.
대한축구협회와 덴소컵 한국 측에 따르면, 대한민국 U-20 여자축구 국가대표로 이하늘, 박주하, 박가연, 최주홍 등 4명이 선발됐다. 덴소컵 한국 여자대학선발팀 명단에는 전유미, 문민지, 신예지, 박가연 등 4명이 최종 발탁됐다. 박가연 선수는 두 팀에 모두 이름을 올리는 영예를 안았다.
특히 이민영 감독은 덴소컵 한국 여자대학선발팀 코치로 선임돼 직접 선수들과 함께 국제 대회에 참가한다. 덴소컵은 한·일 여자대학 간 교류전으로, 전국 대학 선수 가운데 실력과 잠재력을 인정받은 선수들만 뽑힌다.
학교 관계자는 “한 대학에서 국가대표 4명, 덴소컵 선발 4명, 지도자 1명이 동시에 배출된 것은 이례적”이라며 “체계적인 훈련 프로그램과 선수 육성 시스템의 결실”이라고 평가했다.
박력 대경대 K-스포츠지원센터장은 “선수와 지도자가 동시에 대표팀에 선발되는 것은 흔치 않은 일”이라며 “대경대 여자축구부의 경쟁력과 선수들의 기량이 세계 무대에서도 충분히 통할 수 있음을 확인했다”고 말했다.
이민영 감독 역시 “선수들이 성실하게 훈련에 임하고, 팀워크를 우선시한 덕분에 좋은 결과로 이어졌다”며 “태극마크를 달고 대한민국 여자축구 발전에 보탬이 되겠다”는 각오를 밝혔다.
