브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 전 대통령의 내란 혐의 1심 선고를 앞두고 실시된 여론조사에서 응답자 4명 중 3명이 사형 또는 무기징역형 등 중형이 선고될 것으로 예상한다는 결과가 나왔다.
16일 MBC가 여론조사기관 코리아리서치인터내셔널에 의뢰해 공개한 조사에 따르면, 윤 전 대통령의 1심 선고와 관련해 '내란 혐의가 일부 인정돼 무기징역형을 받을 것 같다'는 응답이 43%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이어 '내란 혐의가 대부분 인정돼 사형을 받을 것 같다'는 응답이 32%로 집계됐다. 두 응답을 합하면 75%로, 응답자의 대다수가 중형을 예상한 것으로 분석된다.
반면 '내란 혐의가 인정되지 않아 무죄를 받을 것 같다'는 응답은 18%에 그쳤다.
연령별로 보면, 무기징역형을 예상한 응답이 18~29세(55%)에서 가장 높았다. 사형을 예상한 응답은 40대(44%)와 50~60대(각 39%)에서 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 지역별로는 광주·전라(51%), 성향별로는 진보층(52%)과 더불어민주당 지지층(51%)에서 사형 예상 비율이 높았다.
반면 무죄를 예상한 응답은 70세 이상(28%)과 대구·경북(29%), 국민의힘 지지층(53%)에서 비교적 높게 집계됐다.
최근 통일교로부터 금품을 수수한 혐의 등이 인정돼 징역 1년 8개월을 선고받은 김건희 여사의 1심 판결에 대해서도 부정적 평가가 우세했다. 김 여사의 금품수수와 주가조작, 무상 여론조사 관련 혐의에 대한 1심 선고가 '적절하지 않다'는 응답은 71%로 나타났고, '적절하다'는 응답은 23%였다.
'적절하지 않다'는 평가는 40대(79%), 광주·전라(83%), 강원·제주(86%) 지역과 진보 성향층(89%)에서 특히 높았다. 반면 '적절하다'는 응답은 18~29세(30%), 70세 이상(31%), 국민의힘 지지층(52%)과 보수 성향층(43%)에서 상대적으로 높게 나타났다.
이와 함께 12·3 비상계엄과 관련해 내란중요임무종사 혐의로 기소된 한덕수 전 국무총리가 1심에서 징역 23년을 선고받고 법정 구속된 데 대해서는 '적절하다'는 응답이 59%, '적절하지 않다'는 응답이 36%로 조사됐다.
한편 이번 MBC 여론조사는 코리아리서치인터내셔널이 실시한 것으로, 지난 11~13일 사흘간 전국 거주하는 만 18세 이상 남녀를 대상으로 이뤄졌다. 국내 통신 3사 휴대전화 가상(안심)번호를 이용해 전화면접조사한 결과다. 8318명 중 1000명이 응답해 12%의 응답률을 기록했고, 표본오차는 95% 신뢰 수준에 ±3.1%p다.

This "inappropriate" assessment was particularly high among those in their 40s (79%), those in the Gwangju/Jeolla region (83%), and those in Gangwon/Jeju (86%) regions, as well as those with progressive leanings (89%).
