[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 통영시가 체계적 밀착 상담과 맞춤형 역량 강화 프로그램을 통한 청년 자립 생태계 구축에 나섰다. 

통영시는 지난 9일부터 청년들의 자신감 회복과 안정적인 사회 진출을 돕기 위한 ‘2026년 청년도전지원사업’ 장기과정을 개강했다.

이번 장기과정은 운영기관인 ㈜커리어랩경력개발센터 교육장에서 참여자 20명이 참석한 가운데 ‘나를 만나러 가는 길’이라는 주제로 자신에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 일과 삶의 방향성을 탐색하는 강연으로 시작됐다.

청년도전지원사업은 최근 6개월 이상 취업이나 교육·직업훈련 이력이 없는 만 18~45세 청년 대상 맞춤형 프로그램을 제공해 구직 의욕을 고취하는 사업으로 이번 장기과정은 총 25주간 진행되며 프로그램을 성실히 이수한 참여자에게는 최대 350만 원의 참여수당과 인센티브를 지급해 경제적 자립을 지원한다.

전선미 ㈜커리어랩경력개발센터 대표는 “취업의 문턱에서 막막함을 느끼는 지역 청년들이 다시 세상 밖으로 한 걸음 내딛을 수 있도록 밀착 상담부터 취업 연계까지 전 과정을 세심히 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 통영시는 오는 27일까지 장기과정 참여자를 추가 모집한다. 해당 과정은 3월 3일부터 8월 25일까지 매주 월~화요일, 25주간 운영될 예정이다.

Tongyeong City has embarked on building a youth self-reliance ecosystem through systematic, in-depth counseling and customized capacity-building programs.

On May 9th, Tongyeong City launched the "2026 Youth Challenge Support Project" long-term course to help young people regain their confidence and secure a stable career path.

The long-term course began with a lecture titled "The Road to Finding Myself" at the training center of Career Lab Career Development Center, the operating organization. Twenty participants explored their career and life direction based on self-understanding.

The Youth Challenge Support Project provides a customized program for young people aged 18-45 who have not been employed, educated, or trained for at least six months, stimulating their motivation to seek employment. The long-term course runs for 25 weeks, and participants who diligently complete the program will receive a participation allowance of up to 3.5 million won and incentives to support their economic independence.

Jeon Seon-mi, CEO of Career Lab Career Development Center, said, "We will provide meticulous support throughout the entire process, from close counseling to job placement, to help local youth who feel lost at the threshold of employment take the first step into the world."

Meanwhile, Tongyeong City is accepting additional applications for the long-term program until the 27th. The program will run for 25 weeks, Monday through Tuesday, from March 3rd to August 25th.
