경주시는 지난 13일 시청 영상회의실에서 보육정책위원회를 열고 2026년 보육사업 시행계획과 어린이집 수급계획을 심의·의결했다고 밝혔다.
2026년 보육사업 시행계획은 법정 계획으로, 보육의 공공성 강화를 통해 부모의 양육 부담을 경감하고 안정적이면서 질 높은 보육서비스를 제공하는 데 중점을 두고 수립됐다.
시는 공공형·열린 어린이집을 지속 확대하는 한편, 어린이집 급·간식비 지원을 안정적으로 이어갈 방침이다. 어린이집 재원 아동 1인당 급·간식비는 올해 1월부터 월 2만 6,000원으로 확대 지원되고 있다.
어린이집 수급계획은 지역별 보육 수요와 어린이집 정원 현황을 종합적으로 반영해 마련됐다. 시는 향후 보육 수요 변화에 선제적으로 대응할 수 있도록 단계적 정원 조정 방안도 함께 수립했다.
이날 위원회에서는 국공립 및 민간어린이집 현장의 다양한 의견을 공유하고, 보육 사각지대 해소와 정책 운영의 효율성을 높이기 위한 방안에 대해 폭넓은 논의를 진행했다.
아울러 0~5세 영유아를 대상으로 하는 ‘K보듬 6000’ 긴급 돌봄서비스와 어린이집 유휴공간을 활용한 ‘우리동네 초등돌봄터’ 운영 현황 및 향후 확대 계획도 함께 보고됐다.
이번 위원회에서 의결된 사항은 오는 3월부터 2027년 2월까지 적용된다.
최혁준 경주시 부시장은 “저출생 시대에 양육이 부담이 아닌 기대와 사랑이 될 수 있도록 부모, 어린이집, 보육전문가, 지자체 간 긴밀한 협력을 바탕으로 믿고 맡길 수 있는 보육환경 조성과 수준 높은 보육서비스 제공에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Gyeongju City Deputy Mayor Choi Hyuk-joon stated, "In this era of low birth rates, we will do our utmost to create a trustworthy childcare environment and provide high-quality childcare services through close cooperation among parents, daycare centers, childcare experts, and local governments, so that childcare becomes a source of hope and love, not a burden."
