[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 자원 재활용률을 높이고 시민들의 올바른 분리배출 문화 정착을 위해 오는 3월부터 ‘2026년 폐자원 교환사업’을 운영한다고 19일 밝혔다.

폐자원 교환사업은 일상생활에서 배출되지만 회수율이 낮은 종이팩, 투명페트병, 폐건전지, 아이스팩(겔 형태) 등을 모아오면 실생활에 필요한 물품으로 보상해 주는 시민 참여형 자원순환 정책이다.

지난해에는 폐자원 교환사업을 통해 종이팩 8,854kg, 투명페트병 1만94kg, 폐건전지 47만9,386개, 아이스팩 4,545개를 모아 자원을 재활용했으며, 올해는 폐자원 교환사업을 더욱 활성화하여 자원 재활용률을 높이고, 지속 가능한 환경을 위한 시민들의 참여를 이끌어 낼 계획이다.

교환 기준은 종이팩 1kg, 투명페트병 1kg, 아이스팩(겔 형태) 10개를 모아오면 종량제봉투(10ℓ) 1장으로 교환해 주며, 폐건전지 20개는 새 건전지 2개 1세트(AAA 또는 AA 중 선택)로 교환해 준다.

단, 1인당 최대 교환 한도는 종이팩과 투명페트병 각 10kg, 폐건전지 100개, 아이스팩 50개까지로 제한해 보다 많은 시민이 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 했다.

교환은 11월까지 매주 목요일 19개 읍면동 행정복지센터에서 운영하며, 김해시청 자원순환과를 방문하면 평일 상시 교환이 가능하다.
