【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=애플 제조업 R&D 지원센터(포항공과대학교 내, 이하 지원센터)가 오는 3월 24일부터 26일까지 3일간 ‘SME Week 중소기업 지원 프로그램(SME Week)’을 개최한다.

SME Week은 국내 중소 제조기업의 경쟁력 강화를 목표로 기획된 행사로, 지원센터 소속 엔지니어들이 △스마트 데이터 △스마트 공정 △스마트 품질 랩 분야에서 실무 중심 강연을 진행한다. 이와 함께 외부 전문가들이 △스마트 제조 친환경 전략 △ESG 경영 관점에서의 AI 등을 주제로 강연에 나설 예정이다.
특히 이번 행사에서는 스마트 제조를 기반으로 지속 가능한 제조 전략과 미래 경쟁력 확보에 나선 대기업 사례를 공유하는 특강이 마련된다. 참가 기업들은 기술 혁신이 실제 제조 현장에서 비용 절감, 품질 안정, 운영 효율 향상으로 이어진 구체적 사례를 통해 실질적인 적용 방안을 모색할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
지원센터의 스마트 공정·품질 랩이 새롭게 개발한 교육 프로그램도 이번 행사에서 처음 공개된다. 스마트 팩토리 구현과 데이터 기반 품질 운영 관리 등 현장 적용성이 높은 커리큘럼으로 구성돼, 중소기업의 즉시 활용을 돕는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
행사는 24일과 25일 양일간 강연 중심 프로그램으로 운영되며, 마지막 날인 26일에는 지원센터 엔지니어와의 1대1 컨설팅 세션이 진행된다. 참가 기업은 자사 제조 환경과 기술적 과제를 직접 논의하고 개선 방향을 도출할 수 있다. 컨설팅은 선착순 사전 등록으로 마감된다.

한편 지원센터는 애플이 세계 최초로 설립한 제조업 특화 R&D 지원센터로, 포항공과대학교(POSTECH) 내에 위치해 있다. 스마트 제조 장비를 기반으로 중소 제조기업을 대상으로 교육·컨설팅·분석 서비스를 무상 제공하며 지역 제조산업의 디지털 전환을 지원하고 있다.

Apple Manufacturing R&D Support Center to Host 'SME Week' from March 24th to 26th
The Apple Manufacturing R&D Support Center (located within Pohang University of Science and Technology, hereinafter referred to as the Support Center) will host the "SME Week Small and Medium Enterprise Support Program (SME Week)" for three days from March 24th to 26th.
SME Week is designed to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. Engineers from the Support Center will deliver practical lectures on smart data, smart processes, and smart quality labs. Additionally, external experts will present lectures on topics such as smart manufacturing eco-friendly strategies and AI from an ESG management perspective.
This event will feature special lectures sharing examples of large corporations pursuing sustainable manufacturing strategies and securing future competitiveness based on smart manufacturing. Participating companies are expected to explore practical application strategies through concrete examples of how technological innovation has led to cost reductions, quality stability, and improved operational efficiency in actual manufacturing settings.
A newly developed training program developed by the Support Center's Smart Process and Quality Lab will also be unveiled for the first time at this event. The curriculum, comprised of highly applicable curriculum topics such as smart factory implementation and data-driven quality management, focuses on helping SMEs immediately implement the program.
The event will consist of lecture-based programs on the 24th and 25th, with one-on-one consulting sessions with Support Center engineers on the final day, the 26th. Participating companies will be able to directly discuss their manufacturing environments and technical challenges and identify areas for improvement. Consulting sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis and pre-registration is required.

Meanwhile, the Support Center, the world's first manufacturing-focused R&D support center established by Apple, is located within Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). Based on smart manufacturing equipment, it provides free training, consulting, and analysis services to small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, supporting the digital transformation of the local manufacturing industry.
