경주시 안전관리위원회는 ‘재난 및 안전관리 기본법’과 ‘경주시 안전관리위원회 운영 조례’에 따라 구성된 기구로, 지역 안전관리 정책을 총괄·조정하고 안전관리계획을 심의하는 역할을 수행한다.
이날 회의에는 위원장인 주낙영 시장을 비롯해 경주경찰서, 경주소방서, 경주교육지원청, 군부대, 한국수력원자력 월성본부 등 재난관리책임기관장과 관계자 18명이 참석했다.
참석자들은 재난 유형별 대응체계를 점검하고 2026년 안전관리 정책 추진 방향과 실효성 제고 방안을 논의했다. 특히 이번 안전관리계획에는 지역 특성과 사회 환경 변화에 대응하기 위해 다중운집 인파사고와 중대재해 예방대책, 노인 분야 안전관리계획이 새롭게 포함됐다.
자연재난과 사회재난, 안전사고 및 공통 분야 대책을 유형별로 정비해 재난 예방부터 대비·대응·복구에 이르는 전 과정의 대응체계를 강화한 점도 특징이다.
위원회는 관계기관 간 협력 방안과 현장 대응력 제고 방안을 함께 점검했으며, 논의된 사항을 17개 재난관리책임기관의 세부 안전관리계획에 반영해 기관 간 유기적 협업체계를 강화하기로 했다.
주낙영 시장은 “기후변화와 사회 환경 변화로 재난 유형이 다양해지고 있다”며 “체계적인 안전관리계획 수립과 현장 중심 대응으로 시민이 안심할 수 있는 안전한 경주를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
경주시는 이번에 의결된 안전관리계획을 토대로 재난 대응 역량을 한층 강화하고, 시민이 체감할 수 있는 안전정책을 지속적으로 추진할 방침이다.

Another notable feature is the strengthening of the response system across the entire process, from disaster prevention to preparedness, response, and recovery, by reorganizing natural disasters, social disasters, safety accidents, and common areas by type.
The committee reviewed cooperation plans between related agencies and measures to enhance on-site response capabilities. The committee decided to incorporate these findings into the detailed safety management plans of the 17 disaster management agencies, strengthening inter-agency collaboration.
Mayor Joo Nak-young stated, "Disaster types are diversifying due to climate change and social environmental changes. We will establish a systematic safety management plan and field-centered response to create a safe and secure Gyeongju where citizens can feel safe."
Based on the recently approved safety management plan, Gyeongju City plans to further strengthen its disaster response capabilities and continue to implement safety policies that citizens can experience.
