승하차 시간 단축 및 안전 운행 확보… 교통카드 이용 시 100원 할인 혜택

충남 서산시 시내버스에서 현금 함이 자취를 감춘다. 서산시는 오는 3월 1일부터 관내 모든 시내버스 노선을 대상으로 ‘현금 없는 버스’ 제도를 본격 시행한다고 밝혔다.
이번 조치는 현금 결제 시 발생하는 승하차 지연을 방지하고, 운전기사의 현금 관리 부담을 줄여 안전 운행에 집중할 수 있는 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다. 이에 따라 앞으로 서산시 시내버스를 이용하는 승객은 현금 대신 교통카드나 모바일 결제 수단을 지참해야 한다.

교통카드를 이용할 경우 경제적 혜택도 주어진다. 성인 기준 기본요금이 기존 1,600원에서 1,500원으로 100원 할인되며, 하차 후 60분 이내에 다른 버스로 갈아탈 경우 1회에 한해 무료 환승 혜택도 받을 수 있다.
특정 대상자를 위한 ‘충남형 교통카드’ 혜택도 유지된다. 75세 이상 어르신, 등록 장애인, 국가유공자 및 유족은 충남형 교통카드를 이용해 서산시 시내버스를 무료로 이용할 수 있다. 또한 6세부터 18세까지의 어린이와 청소년을 위한 ‘충남형 알뜰 교통카드’는 하루 최대 3회까지 무료 이용이 가능하다.
카드 발급은 관할 읍면동 행정복지센터에서 상시 접수 중이다. 신청 시 대상에 따라 사진 1매와 학생증, 장애인복지카드, 국가유공자증 등 증빙 서류를 지참해야 한다. 단, 어르신 등을 위한 충남형 교통카드는 거주지 관할 행정복지센터에서만 신청 가능하다.
