더불어민주당 명재성 경기 고양특례시장 예비후보가 지역 사회복지계와 머리를 맞대며 현장 중심의 복지 정책 마련에 나섰다.
명 예비후보는 지난 23일 일산1동 사회복지연대 사무실에서 '고양시 사회복지연대'와 정책간담회를 개최했다고 24일 밝혔다.
이번 간담회에는 고양시사회복지협의회 회장이자 길상사 주지인 보산 스님을 비롯해 각 분야 현업 종사자와 활동가들이 자리를 함께했다.

이날 고양시 사회복지연대는 종사자들의 의견을 모아 공동 작성한 정책 제안서를 명 예비후보에게 전달했다.
제안서에는 복지 서비스의 질적 향상과 지속 가능한 복지 생태계 조성을 위한 2대 분야 4개 핵심 과제가 담겼다.
사회복지 종사자의 실질적인 임금 및 근무 환경 개선과 함께, 사회복지시설 및 단체의 안정적 운영 지원과 지역사회 돌봄 강화 방안이 핵심 내용으로 포함됐다.
명 예비후보는 간담회에서 "복지 최전선에서 헌신하는 종사자분들의 소중한 의견을 직접 들을 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이었다"며 "제안해주신 정책 중 실현 가능한 과제들은 시정 운영 계획에 우선적으로 반영하겠다"고 약속했다.
이어 "고양특례시장이 된다면 시민 및 전문가와 끊임없이 교감하는 '양방향 소통 행정'을 강화해 누구도 소외되지 않는 고양시를 만들겠다"는 포부를 밝혔다.
명재성 예비후보는 39년간 공직에 몸담으며 고양시 덕양구청장·일산서구청장, 기획조정실장 등 주요 보직을 두루 역임한 행정 전문가다.
이후 제11대 경기도의회 의원을 지냈으며, 더불어민주당 당대표 특별보좌역 및 정책위 부의장, 경기도의회 정무수석을 거쳤다.
한국항공대학교 법학과를 졸업하고 국민대학교 정치대학원에서 정치학 석사 학위를 취득했다.
