충남 논산시가 고향사랑기금을 활용한 생활밀착형 복지 모델인 ‘육군병장 빨래방’의 문을 열고 본격적인 가동에 들어갔다.
이번 사업은 단순한 가사 지원을 넘어 기부금의 선순환 구조와 마을 돌봄 체계를 결합했다는 점에서 지역 복지 행정의 새로운 지평을 열었다는 평가를 받는다.
논산시새마을회관 1층에 둥지를 튼 ‘육군병장 빨래방’은 논산을 사랑하는 기부자들의 정성이 모인 ‘고향사랑기금’을 재원으로 마련됐다. 주목할 점은 기금으로 조성된 복지 공간을 지역의 대표 봉사단체인 새마을회가 직접 운영한다는 점이다.
