정용래 대전 유성구청장이 한국전력공사가 추진하는 초고압 송전선로 건설사업에 대해 주거 밀집 도심 통과를 명확히 반대하며, 구민 생명과 건강 보호를 최우선으로 강조했다.
유성구는 지난 27일 구청 대회의실에서 지역 국회의원, 구의원, 입지선정위원회 유성구 위원, 주민 등과 ‘345kV 신계룡~북천안 송전선로 건설사업 대책 간담회’를 열고, 송전탑 입지 선정 과정에서 유성구를 제외할 것을 촉구했다.
간담회에서 정용래 구청장은 공동주택과 학교가 밀집한 유성구의 특성을 들어 “초고압 송전선로가 도심을 통과하면 구민의 생명, 건강, 재산권이 심각하게 침해된다”며 강한 반대 입장을 밝혔다.
정 구청장은 “국가 전력망 확충 필요성은 이해하나, 유성구는 대규모 아파트 단지와 생활권이 빽빽한 도시 지역”이라며 “이러한 여건을 무시한 경과 노선 결정은 절대 수용할 수 없다”고 단호히 선을 그었다.

특히 정 구청장은 대안으로 “국도 1호선 활용 등 기존 인프라를 적극 검토해야 한다”며 “반복되는 송전선로 갈등을 해소하려면 기존 방식에서 벗어난 창의적 접근이 필수”라고 제안했다.
이번 간담회는 최적 경과 대역에 진잠동·학하동·노은1·2·3동 등 유성구 전역이 포함되면서 주민 불안이 고조된 데 따른 대응으로, 구의 공식 반대 입장을 재확인하는 자리였다.
