결론적으로, 필자는 하메네이를 추모하고 싶은 생각은 없다. 난 세속적인 것을 좋아하지 교조적이고 근본주의적인 것을 혐오하기 때문이다. 그보다 필자는 이스라엘을 더 혐오하고 유태인도 혐오한다. 선민 의식의 유태인들은 동양인들에 극심한 인종차별을 해댔고 필자도 유태인들에게 "하나님이 만든 불량품인 아시아인을 혐오한다", "혹은 아시아 불량품의 수업을 듣지 않겠다"며 필자의 강의 시간을 보이콧 하는 등 갖은 모멸의 인종차별을 받아왔다.
유태인들의 그런 행위에 가장 많은 분노를 느꼈고 그들이 중동에서 하는 행위는 악마에 가까웠다. 필자는 반미는 아니다. 그러나 반이스라엘, 반유대주의자는 맞다. 유태인들에게 인종차별을 당해 본 적 없는 사람들은 필자 같은 반유대주의 정서를 도저히 이해하지 못한다. 그렇기에 필자는 이스라엘이 중동에서 커지면 안 된다 생각했고 이들을 없애야 한다고 생각해 아랍권과 페르시아권, 이슬람권에서 이스라엘을 축출하기틀 바랬다.
아시는 분들은 다 아시지만 필자 또한 종교가 이슬람이고, 이브라힘(Ibrahim)이라는 세레명을 가진 무슬림이지만 매우 세속적이고 무늬만 무슬림이다. 술, 돼지 다 먹고, 필자가 필요할 때만 기도하고 라마단은 지키지 않는다. 알라 하나님을 가슴 속에 모시고 있으며 모스크에는 보이면 들어가 5분 정도 기도하는게 전부다. 세례를 받으면 무슬림인거고 알라 모시면 무슬림이나 이슬람 5대 기둥 중 샤하다 (신은 알라 하나님 한 분 뿐이고 무함마드는 예언자다)와 자카트(زكاة)라는 자선을 지키고 메카도 다녀왔다.
이스라엘은 중동의 평화를 해치는 장본인이다. 그래서 중동을 연구하면서 본 것이 집단서방의 중동 자원 탈취와 이스라엘의 위협이었고 이들이 아랍에 대한 멸절을 경계해야 한다고 주장했다. 그래서 이란의 성전(聖戰)을 지지한다. 다시 말하자면 하메네이를 지지하는게 아니라 이란의 聖戰을 지지하는 것이다. 필자는 하메네이를 지지하지 않았고 앞으로도 그럴 것이다. 그를 추모하지는 않는 이유가 그는 수많은 사람들의 피를 흘리게 했고 기본적으로 신정 체제 자체는 칼리프 시절을 연상케 하는 체제라 싫어한다. 이것이 그를 추모하지 않는 이유다.
