[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령군 대표 축제 ‘홍의장군축제’와 ‘리치리치 페스티벌’이 2026~2027년 경상남도 지역특화축제 지원사업에 나란히 선정되며 축제 경쟁력을 입증했다.
홍의장군축제는 2년 연속 경남도 지정 문화관광축제로 선정돼 총 1억 원의 도비를 확보하며 지역을 대표하는 역사문화축제의 위상을 유지하게 됐다.
4월 16일부터 19일까지 의령군민공원 일원에서 열리는 이번 축제는 의병의 고장 의령의 정체성을 담은 다양한 체험과 공연으로 구성돼 있다.
리치리치 페스티벌은 ‘2026년 지역특화축제’에서 최고 등급인 S등급을 획득하며 3,000만 원의 도비를 지원받는다.
남강 솥바위 전설의 ‘부자 기운’을 주제로 한 이 축제는 지난해 34만 명의 방문객을 모으며, 독창적인 콘텐츠로 전국적 관심을 받았다.
이번 선정으로 ‘K-부자’ 관광콘텐츠로서 성장 가능성을 다시 한번 입증했다.
군 관계자는 “홍의장군의 용기와 솥바위의 풍요라는 차별화된 스토리와 콘텐츠 경쟁력이 이번 동시 선정의 핵심”이라며 “앞으로도 방문객 모두가 즐기고 지역 경제 활성화에 기여하는 품격 있는 축제로 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 말했다.

The Hongui General Festival has been designated as a Gyeongsangnam-do designated cultural tourism festival for the second consecutive year, securing a total of 100 million won in provincial grants, solidifying its status as a leading historical and cultural festival in the region.
The festival, held from April 16th to 19th at Uiryeong County Park, features a variety of experiences and performances that capture the identity of Uiryeong, the home of the Righteous Army.
The Rich Rich Festival received the highest rating, Grade S, at the 2026 Regional Specialization Festival, receiving 30 million won in provincial funding.
Themed around the "rich aura" of the Namgang Sotbawi Rock legend, the festival attracted 340,000 visitors last year and garnered national attention for its unique content.
This selection once again demonstrates its potential as a "K-rich" tourism destination.
